Northern Lakes College students are represented at multiple levels across the college campuses.
Local Students Unions
The first layer of representation for students is at the campus level, where local Student Unions are elected by the student population. Campus Student Unions are responsible for planning local, campus-specific events, and may engage in fundraising activities. They are also responsible for graduation events and educational field trips.
Elected from representatives among the NLCSA, the Executive Council represents the student body directly to the Board of Governors, the Community Education Committee (and its council) and other Academic Councils across the campuses.
Academic Council brings together students, faculty, and administrators to exchange information and viewpoints on academic affairs. Academic Council reviews documents listens to presentations and engages in productive discussion on academic matters with members of the college community (e.g. committees, departments, divisions, faculty, students, administrators, and alumni).
