Scholarships

Students’ Association Role Model Scholarship – $1000

Applicants must be full-time students, in financial need, good academic standing, contributing to student activities through the Students’ Association and a role model to other students. A Role Model is someone who is involved in the community, shows leadership in and outside of school, has improved academically, is willing to assist other students and/or has overcome difficulties to do well at school. Two $1000 awards are available (1 Academic Upgrading student & 1 Post-Secondary Student.)

NLCSA Shirley Kellington Shining Star Award – $450

Available to full-time or part-time students in Academic Upgrading or Trades program. Applicants must be in good academic standing and demonstrating three of the following criteria: demonstrate hard work and achievement in their program; exceptional spirit with volunteerism and helping other students; has caring nature towards instructors, students and student community; goes the extra mile in volunteerism, employment and/or other activities involved in.

Bursaries

NLCSA Financial Needs Bursary – $400

Students attending Northern Lakes College credit programs (including Academic Upgrading and all Post-Secondary programs) can apply for this bursary. Students must be in financial need, in good academic standing and are able receive this bursary once per academic year (September – June).

NLCSA Technology Bursary – $400

Students attending Northern Lakes College credit programs (including Academic Upgrading and all Post-Secondary programs) can apply for this bursary. Students must be in financial need, in good academic standing and are able receive this bursary once per academic year (September – June).

Subsidized Non-Credit Courses Students Helping Students

Continuing Education and Corporate Training Courses

As an NLC student, you can have 90% (up to $200) of your Continuing Education and Corporate course fees paid for through a partnership with the Council of Community Education Committees (CCEC) and Northern Lakes College Students’ Association (NLCSA).

The CCEC promotes student development by subsidizing 45% of course costs, up to a maximum of $100.

The NLCSA further promotes student development by subsidizing an additional 45% of course costs, up to a maximum of $100.

This subsidy provides NLC students the opportunity to pay only a small fraction of their Continuing Education and Corporate Training course fees!
