Our dedicated NLCSA President, Jennifer Sharron, has taken this little girl into her loving home. Originally, Rocket came from Edmonton but now resides with Jennifer in Athabasca, Alberta!
What species/breed are they?
Rocket is a Netherlands Dwarf Rabbit.
How old are they?
She will be 5 years old this February.
Fun facts:
"She has a goofy personality. One day she is nice and the next, she's a little terror. She loves carrots but, surprisingly, does not like the colour orange or red!"
Pandy

Sherry Cardinal, our hardworking NLCSA Secretary, has recently welcomed a delightful new companion into her home. Pandy, who has been with Sherry for a little over a month, was gifted by a friend.
What species/breed are they?
Pandy is a tuxedo cat!
How old are they?
She is a ten month old kitten.
Fun facts:
"She loves to run and play but also likes to cuddle up and she is deeply loved by her new family!"
Bean

Our lovely Student Wellness Representative, Trisha Sitek, took Bean into their home in 2019 and has cared for him ever since!

Bean is a tuxedo cat.
How old are they?
He turned 6 last June!

"He is the BIGGEST cuddle bug and is constantly purring. He is also the worlds biggest drama queen and loves to scream at people for attention."
Zeus

Our committed Student Councilor, Anna Friesen, welcomed this little guy into her home in 2022 after adopting him from her local shelter, where he was surrendered. She took him in and the rest is history!
What species/breed are they?
Zeus is a Bearded Dragon.
How old are they?
He is about 5 years old.
Fun facts!
"Zeus believes he is a king but is the most chill lizard ever. He loves worms but especially loves his Blue Horned worms, they are like candy to him. He also loves to go outside in the summertime and climb trees!"
Shadow & Pumpkin

Our amazing Public Member, Valerie Adams, has had these two cuties since they were kittens
What species/breed are they?
Shadow and Pumpkin are both Domestic Shorthair cats.
How old are they?
Shadow is about a year and a half old, and Pumpkin is three years old.
Fun facts!
"Shadow looooves to snuggle and try to aggressively groom your head and Pumpkin is the king of demanding his supper when he decides it should be suppertime!"
Oreo

"Oreo likes to run and play around but also loves to cuddle up. He is very much loved."
Cruze

Our devoted Student Advocacy Representative, Clayton Harding, is the owner of Cruze. She was adopted from a breeder back in 2020 and has been with Clayton since!

Cruze is an English Setter.
How old are they?
She is 5 years old.

"She’s a water loving sweetheart. She’s extremely affectionate and always knows how to cheer me up when I’m feeling down."
Lewis

Our devoted Student Advocacy Representative, Clayton Harding, picked up Lewis from the "Strays and Adoptables" in Manning, Alberta, in October of 2025.
What species/breed are they?
Lewis is a Domestic Short Hair.
How old are they?
He is around 3 years old.
Fun facts!
"Lewis is such a goofball and a nerd. He's not scared of water and I know that because he has jumped in the shower behind be before. He is also a big snuggler."
Bear

Our amazing Board of Governors Representative, Terry-Lynn Harding, adopted Bear in October of 2025. They had drove all the way from Manning to Lethbridge to pick Bear up and welcome him into their loving home.
What species/breed are they?
He is a Boxer-Rottweiler mix.
How old are they?
Bear is around 2 years old.
Fun facts!
"Bear is a rampaging pony. He is approximately 110 pounds of giant lap dog and is pretty much destined to destroy all the things, not on purpose of course, just friendly fire! He is the best big brother to Poppy, and helps teach her things, because he is older. However, he needs her to go with him outside at night, because he is not as brave as his size suggests, and is a bit of a scaredy dog in the dark."
Izzy

Our amazing Board of Governors Representative, Terry-Lynn Harding, adopted Izzy roughly 10-11 years ago. Izzy was not cared for the way she needed before she was surrendered and Terry-Lynn knew she could provide a better life for her. So she did!
What species/breed are they?
She is a Jack Russell-Papillon Mix.
How old are they?
Izzy is approximately 15-17 years old!
Fun facts!
"Izzy is quite mellow now that she is reaching her golden years, but in her heyday, she was kind of chaotic. In the car or on a walk, her only requirement, nay, demand, is we must keep going fast. No stops, no matter what the reason, or she would scream us the song of her people…loudly!"
Poppy

Our amazing Board of Governors Representative, Terry-Lynn Harding, adopted Poppy in November, 2025. Manning's "Strays and Adoptables" facilitated her adoption of their youngest puppy. The previous owner had surrendered her and felt that Terry-Lynn would be a good match for Poppy's needs.
What species/breed are they?
She is a French Bulldog
How old are they?
Poppy is now 9 months old.
Fun facts!
"Poppy is on her way to becoming a therapy dog, she is an exceptional puppy. We can take her anywhere, and her manners are impeccable, especially for how young she is. She was invited to visit the local seniors’ home,
and was even invited to return, so that was a big moment! Poppy is also the second Frenchie I have been gifted in my lifetime, so that is a unique thing!"
Jack Jackson
